Villages Vintage Car Club Monday
January 19, 2009
The regular meeting of the Villages Vintage Car Club was held on January 19, 2009 at the Truman Recreation Center. President Jim Maiurro called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm and led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the November 17, 2008 were read by Prentiss Yates. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as read. Motion was carried.
The Treasurer’s report was read by Mike Ferlisi. A motion was made and seconded to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Motion carried.
President Maiurro gave a brief overview of upcoming events:
1. Orange Blossom Hills Feb 14, 2009 9am to 3 pm
2. Marion County Sheriff April 4, 2009 9am to 3 pm
3. Scout Unit 721, Pinewood Derby January 31
4. A valve cover race will be held in the future
President Maiurro introduced 2 guest speakers.
The first was Tom Rambow of Montana Pinstriping. He will be in the area in Jan, Feb and Mar before returning north. Tom donated 3 pieces of garage art that will be raffled off at the end of the meeting.
The second guest speaker was Eric Linbach of EML Metal Restoration of New Port Richey and they specialize in stainless steel and metal restoration.

Old Business
Rick Welch has been appointed to fill the vacant position of Vice President until December 31, 2009.
Prentiss Yates has assumed the secretary position until December 31, 2010.
President Maiurro requested that those who ordered t-shirts please pick them up.
New Business
Announcements
The meeting notice will now be on channel 20.
There will be a free National Street Rod Association (NSRA) safety inspection at J&B Streetrods, Highway 441 from 10 to 2 on April 4, 2009. You do not have to be a NSRA member to use this service.
President Maiurro presented Joan Barrett and Ken Pittman with mementos for their service as Secretary and Vice President respectively.
Snappy Tomato Cruise-in had 21 cars and will provide pizza for a future meeting.
Sweetbay had more than 80 cars and Steve Haumann won a trophy.
Advance Auto and Tire Choice had 22 cars.
The club has purchased a karaoke machine, 13 inch TV and generator.
The Don Garlits show had the following winners:

3. Bob Klousterman Top 40 Award
4. Bill Horne Top 40 Award
5. Don Bingham Best of Show
Jay DeCamp explained that the Sonic Cruise-in has been canceled. There will be a new Cruise-in at Big City Grill on the 4th Saturday of the month from 5 to 9pm. It is located on 466 in front of Walmart.
Our new member, Dick Moffitt, sells Chevrolet restoration parts.
Judges for the February car show are Rick Welsh and Bob Klousterman
There were 99 members and guests present at the meeting. The 50/50 drawing provided 2 drawings.
A motion was made, seconded and motion carried to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 pm.
