Villages Vintage Car Club

Monday August 17,2009

The regular meeting of the Villages Vintage Car Club was held on August 17 2009 president Jim Maiurro called the meeting to order at 7; 10PM.

REPORTS: Acting recording Mike Varga read the minutes of the previous meeting. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.

A motion was made to waver the reading of the treasurer’s report. Treasurer Mike Ferlisi could not be found. Motion carried

President Jim reported that the car show at Summerfield Suites was canceled for lack of interest

UP COMING EVENTS: September 22 Mystery Cruise to know Where, September 23 Hot Dogs and Not Rods at the Saddle brook Complex, October 11 Lake Ridge winery, October 1 Pot Luck Dinner, October 23re Lake Sumter landing Car Show and December Christmas Party.

NEW MEMBERS: Daryl Ware, John and Vicky Peters, Vic Nelson and Marlene Zimmerman and Diane Robbins who is a re up member

UNFINISHED BUISNESS: President Jim reported that Mike Ferlisi willi be the new Web Master. President Jim Thanked Mike for taking the job.

Al Stone reported that the response from the sponsors for items to give out at our Car Show has been has been great. Al also said that we need everyone to sign up to help if this show is going to be a success. The show will be held February 27,2010.

President Maiurro said none of our Trophies were given out at this month’s Villages Car Show. Jim said he spoke to Nadia and told her we will not be giving out Trophies anymore Nadia said that will be fine.

Jim reported that he met with the Executive Board about the Gary Woodward Trophy and the Board decided that the award will be given out at our regular meetings.

President Maiurro reported that the Board cannot come up with a solution on our Logo. After some discussion it was decided to wait until the snow birds return to come up with weather to change the Logo or stay with the old one. As of now we have three different ones.

NEW BUISNESS: President Jim reported that the Entertainment Committees time in office will be over this December. None of the members are returning to the committee and we need members to volunteer to take over. Jim said if we do not get any people there will be no events for the year.

Jim reported that there will be two positions opened on the Board up for Election; they are the Treasurer and the Vice President positions. Anyone interested in either position have your name nominated on the floor. Elections will be held in November. These positions are two year terms.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: President Maiurro announced that Prentis had a Knee operation while up north and that he will return in October.

Jim reported that there is a Web Site called Florida Car shows anyone interested in knowing what shows are around go to www.FloridaCarshows.com.

Tony Rizzo reported that there was a Documentary called Classic Cars in Cuba and he wondered if we could send parts to Cuba to help the people keep their cars running. Tony was told the only way it can be done is if we get a sister club from Canada to send parts over to them. The reason being is the United States has an embargo on Cuba.

CLOSING: A motion was made to close the meeting and seconded> President Jim closed the meeting at

7:35 PM.
