Villages Vintage Car Club
Monday June 15,2009
The regular meeting of the Villages Vintage Car Club was held on June 15,2009 President Jim Maiurro called the meeting to order at 7 PM and let the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance.
REPORTS: Acting Recording Secretary Mike Varga read the minutes of the May 11, The meeting. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.
Treasurer Mike Ferlisi read the Treasurer report. A motion was made and seconded to accept the Treasurers report as read. Motion carried.
UPCOMMING EVENTS: June 28 Bogies Restaurant and Bar, July 12 Family Day at Truman
Center, August 22nd Summerfield Suites, September 11 Lake ridge Winery and Pizza ,September 27
Mystery Cruise, October 1 Pot Luck Dinner, October 23 Lake Sumter Landing Cruise In, and
December our annual Christmas party.
NEW MEMBERS: Mel and Pauline Stiger, Bob Partrage, Don Minchinton and Don Eon
UNFINISHED BUISNESS: Julie Holt from To Jays of Lake Sumter Landing reported that To Jays would like to put on a Car Show in November she would like between forty to fifty cars. Julie said that refreshments would be given also a ten percent discount will be given for dinner that night of the show.
President Maiurro reported that changing the logo of the club also not giving trophies out to non club functions was not discussed by the Board of Directors as of this meeting. Jim said that he will report back at a later date. Anyone requesting information on this matter contact President Maiurro.
Al Stone reported on the basics of having a car show of our own. The owner of Marion Market said he would be delighted in having the show there. The only thing he wants is the rights to the food vendor portion of the show. Al also reported that we have enough Insurance to protect the club and we might need a rider on the Insurance. Al stated that the most important thing is the need of Volunteers to make the show work this is a club function and the whole club must participate in some form or another.
Harry Miller reported that Chic-Fil-A is having a Spirit Night and they would like ten or eleven cars at the event. This event is to raise money for Childhood cancer. The show will be held June 2 from 5 to 8 PM and is sponsored by the
Tri County Optimist club.
NEW BUISNESS: None.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: President Maiurro reported that Hellen Moore wife of member Frank Moore Passed away also Frank has inoperatable Cancer.
Mike Ferlisi will be handing out Kozzie Cup Holders to anyone who has not received one at the club picnic. This is to mark our tenth year as a club.
Harry Miller donated a 1948 Tucker model car this will be given out by a drawing a ticket at the end of the meeting.
CLOSING: A motion was made and seconded to close the meeting- President Maiurro closed the meeting at 8:10pm.
